Risk Assessment Summary
How we identify and mitigate risks on ChiliChecker
About This Document
Under the UK Online Safety Act 2023, regulated services must conduct risk assessments to identify potential harms and implement measures to mitigate them. This page provides a public summary of our risk assessment findings and the measures we have in place.
This is a summary for transparency purposes. Our full internal risk assessments contain additional detail and are reviewed regularly.
Our Service
ChiliChecker is a review and information platform that helps users discover and evaluate adult content creators. Key characteristics of our service:
- We do not host adult content: We provide information about creators who publish on other platforms
- User-generated reviews: Users can submit ratings and written reviews of creators
- External links: We link to adult content platforms where creators publish their content
- Age-gated access: All users must confirm they are 18+ before accessing creator content
- Existing platform users: Our reviews are intended for users who already have access to age-verified adult content platforms and are seeking guidance on which creators offer quality content
- No standalone value: Our reviews and ratings serve no practical purpose to anyone who cannot access the external adult content platforms, as the information only helps with subscription decisions on those platforms
Illegal Content Risk Assessment
Types of Illegal Content
We have assessed the risk of the following types of illegal content appearing on our platform:
| Content Type | Risk Level | Mitigation |
|---|---|---|
| Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) | Low | No user media uploads; automated moderation; immediate escalation policy |
| Terrorism content | Low | Out of scope for platform purpose; content moderation |
| Non-consensual intimate imagery | Medium | No image hosting; review moderation; creator verification |
| Harassment and abuse | Medium | Content moderation; user reporting; account actions |
| Fraud and scams | Medium | Review verification; spam filtering; user reporting |
Risk Factors Considered
- Content types: User-generated reviews (text), creator profiles, external links
- User demographics: Adults 18+ (enforced via age gate)
- Platform functionality: Search, reviews, ratings, reporting
- External links: Links to adult content platforms are included but content is not hosted
Children's Access Assessment
We have assessed whether ChiliChecker falls within the scope of Part 5 of the Online Safety Act (services likely to be accessed by children).
Assessment Finding
ChiliChecker does not fall within Part 5 "pornographic content service" scope because we do not host pornographic content. We are an information and review platform for users who already have access to age-restricted content services.
Protective Measures
Despite not hosting adult content, we implement the following measures to discourage access by minors:
- Age confirmation gate: Users must confirm they are 18+ before accessing creator profiles
- Clear platform purpose: Our branding and content makes the adult nature of the service clear
- No explicit content: We do not host images, videos, or explicit content
- External link warnings: Links to adult platforms are clearly labelled
